A teenage boy tries desperately to retrieve the rude caricature he accidentally handed in before his teacher notices.

A couple are put to the test, literally, when they agree to participate in a joint therapy session that will be observed by an international panel of psychology experts. Proving that they’re the perfect couple by repressing all their real issues turns out to be more difficult than they planned.

WHITEOUT CONDITIONS explores the discrepancy between the fear-mongering tone of snowfall reports and the idyllic landscapes that accompany them, with the intent of documenting the mise-en-scene, the language and the choreography of Romanian media. A video essay in the vein of Harun Farocki, WHITEOUT CONDITIONS analyzes with thoughtful flair the TV mythologies of “bad” weather, listening to the news’ alarmist descriptions of “endless rain” and “dogged weather,” or how “winter is throwing down the gauntlet”. Yet during the holidays – i.e. outside of working hours – on the same channel you’ll hear snow become “a picture from the fairytales.” And then when they turn to describe blizzards, avalanches, and white tragedies, another era-defining cliché will be shown in the background: the idyllic winter landscape. Prepared to do anything for her, he goes as far as to holdup banks to secure the good life she longs for. Although she confesses (wrongly) that she suffers from AIDS, he is in no way discouraged. Séréna accepts to marry Roland but on her wedding night she balks at taking the "midnight exam". She runs away and meets Antoine, a married writer, who hides her in the attic of his house, without his wife knowing it.
